中国社会科学院西亚非洲研究所研究员、研究生院西亚非洲系教授、博士生导师，现任西亚非洲研究所国际关系研究室主任，西亚非洲所创新工程项目《中东热点问题与我国的应对之策研究》首席研究员，所学术委员会委员。
学习经历：1981—1985年在宁夏大学历史系读本科。1985-1988年在西南大学历史学院攻读世界近现代史方向硕士学位，1988年6月获云南大学历史学硕士。2000年至2003年在中国社会科学院研究生院世界历史系攻读世界历史专业中东近现代史方向博士学位，2003年7月获历史学博士。
工作经历：1988—2000年在宁夏大学历史系任教，讲授《世界现代史》、《当代中东》等专业课程，担任世界史教研室主任；1991年任讲师、1997年晋升为副教授。2003年7月迄今，在中国社会科学院西亚非洲所从事中东政治、社会及国际关系研究，先后任社会文化研究室副主任、主任，2010年以来担任国际关系研究室主任。2007年晋升研究员。
学术研究：曾长期在高校从事有关世界现代史、当代中东等课程的教学和科研工作，有丰富的教学经验和学术积累。现从事中东政治、社会、伊斯兰教及国际关系研究，尤其是在中东政治发展与民主化研究方面取得了许多重要成果，其中代表作《中东国家民主化问题研究》是国内关于中东民主化问题研究的第一部学术专著，提出了许多富有独立创见的观点，在学术界引起了同行专家们的重视。先后主持并完成中国社会科学院重大课题“中东伊斯兰国家民主化问题研究”、中国社会科学院重大课题阿拉伯研究项目之一“阿拉伯政治研究”。参与中国社会科学院重大课题“西亚非洲重点国家跟踪研究”等多项课题。目前主持西亚非洲所重点课题“土耳其民主化道路研究”、中国社会科学院重点学科建设工程“西亚非洲社会发展研究”、中国社会科学院西亚非洲所创新工程项目“中东热点问题与我国的应对之策研究”等。
国内外学术交流情况：2008年4月至2009年3月，在英国牛津伊斯兰研究中心访学。2009年10月至11月，在埃及、沙特阿拉伯和阿联酋访问交流。2012年5月、8—9月赴土耳其访问交流。
教学情况：担任中国社会科学院研究生院教授、博士生导师，指导多名硕士研究生和博士生，先后讲授《伊斯兰教与中东》、《当代中东热点问题》、《世界历史进程中的中东》、《中东历史》、《中东政治》等。
获奖及荣誉称号等：论文《试析麦加商道状况与伊斯兰教兴起诸问题》曾荣获我所2003年度优秀科研成果一等奖，同时荣获“第五届中国社会科学院优秀科研成果奖”三等奖；论文《民主化还是美国化——解析美国对中东地区的政治整合与“民主改造”》荣获2006年我所优秀科研成果奖等。2011年荣获国务院颁发的“政府特殊津贴”。

Academic Research:
Most of his research works are devoted to the Middle East politics, society, Islam and the international relations. He is author of The Study of the Democratization in the Middle East monograph, 2007, this is the first book concerning the Middle East democratization studies in China. He is the leading professor of the research projects “Democratization in the Middle East Countries”, “Arab Politics Studies”, “The Democratization of Turkey”, “The Social Development Studies of West Asia and Africa”, “The Middle East Hot Spot Issues Studies and China’s Strategy”, etc.
Academic Exchange：
He has been as visiting scholar to the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, Britain, from April 2008 to March 2009. He visited Egypt, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates in August and November, 2009. He visited Turkey two times in 2012, which was in May, August and September.
Teaching：
Professor Wang Lincong is teaching at the graduate school of CASS. He is the supervisors for PhD. Now his teaching courses include Islam and the Middle East, the contemporary Middle East hot spot issues, the Middle East in the world history, The Middle East history, The Middle East politics, etc.
Awards：
His paper an Analysis of the Mecca Road and the rise of Islam was awarded the first prize of IWAAS, which was also awarded the third prize of CASS. His paper Democratization or Americanization, an Analysis of USA’S Strategy towards the Middle East was awarded the excellent prize of IWAAS in 2006. He began to receive special allowance of the State Council in 2011.
